⏳ Methuselah’s death lines up with the Flood — to the year
Working through the ages given in Genesis 5 (his age at his son’s birth, plus his son’s age at
his son’s birth, and so on to Noah), Methuselah’s 969th and final year lands on the same year the
Genesis flood narrative begins. The text never comments on this directly; it simply falls out of
the arithmetic.
