📏 Goliath may not have been nine feet tall

1 Samuel 17:4

The Masoretic Hebrew text gives Goliath’s height as “six cubits and a span” — roughly nine feet
six inches. But the earliest known Hebrew manuscript of Samuel, along with the Greek Septuagint
and the historian Josephus, all give “four cubits and a span” instead — about six foot nine.
A very tall man for the period, but a far more historically plausible one.
